SPECTACULUM CASTELLUM

A trip through time to the colourful world of the Middle Ages. Let yourself be enchanted by a spectacle of a different kind, which is far superior to the usual ‘castle festival’.

On your trip through time you will first be received by the ‘Prince Elector’s Company of Guards’ in impressive historical costume and equipment. They will be standing guard on this day especially for you and will accompany you and your guests into the castle. After your guests have gone through the guarded gate, they will be greeted by a group of fanfare trumpeters.

In the castle courtyard, fire-eaters, jugglers and tumblers display their arts while you enjoy a beaker of mead or wine and the magnificent view. Up to 100 knights and mercenaries, mounted on horseback if desired, can be part of our ‘Spectaculum’. Spectacular show fights with mediaeval sword fighting techniques will leave your guests breathless.

Having had a taste of the ‘new times’, you and your guests are now accompanied by the ‘Prince Elector’s Company of Guards’ to the beautifully decorated rooms of the castle, where you will be served a feast in several courses.

You will be entertained during the evening meal by well-known groups, who will transport you into the past with their music. Listen to the music of the simple people, played with drums, bagpipes and cithern. The pieces are accompanied by a pair of clowns with entertainments of the time. Wit and charm are the spices of this mixture, quite as mediaeval taste would have it.

As we have a rich variety of historical decorations and costumes at our disposal, our ‘Spectaculum Castellum’ can, of course, be held in various castles and palaces throughout Germany, just as you wish. There are no limits to the sets and costumes, either. Your guests could, for example, be fitted out in mediaeval costume as well as those acting in our ‘Spectaculum Castellum’.
